One of the strangest-looking ceramics ever produced, Wolf Legend was a deluxe Scotch designed by Morrison Bowmore Distillers to impress the Taiwanese with a healthy dose of Scots kitsch.
Based largely around Bowmore and Auchentoshan malts, the blend drew on other malts and grains to create the sort of full, rich and sweet whisky popular in the Far East. After vatting the blend was matured again in oak until bottled.
Three expressions were produced as part of a set: a 21-year-old (blue), 25-year-old (red) and 30-year-old (white). The panels around the Wade decanter depicted the search for infamous outlaw Rob Roy MacGregor by the king’s army.
The limited and short-lived series was introduced during the mid-1990s, mainly for the Taiwanese market.
