A warm welcome
to the online tasting at Highland Park distillery where we will be comparing and discussing four samples of beautifully aged Malt Whisky that is still in the cask. We are inviting both our visitors and buyers to vote on their favourites (read the various tasting notes carefully!) because the winning cask is going to be bottled by the distillery and we will be deliverying bottles to our buyers worldwide. Check the comments to find out how things are progressing in the
Forum.

Charlie's View
These are wonderfully rich whiskies - more fragrant and fuller flavoured than the propriety 18 and 25 year ld bottlings, by virtue of their stregth

One might say that they share the characteristics of the proprietory bottlings in full measure, expand upon each; sweeter, fuller, more viscous, hotter. They are classic highland Parks; flawlessly matured, with no woodiness; only the 1973 bottling is aderant - more floral-fragrant, which will appeal to some for all-day drinking.

They do not like too much water. I don't have the natural strenghths but they are best with just a dash, say at 45 - 50% ABV. They hold their flavour well over time, becoming sweeter and in some cases more smokey as they breathe.
