The Macallan

Macallan
18 Year Old Speyside, 43% vol

Appearence:
Rich, toffee amber with crimson lights.

Aroma:
Tightly integrated comples, with medium intensity.
(straight) New leather boots; sweet Oloroso sherry nose, with pecan pie, marzipan and poached pears
(dilute) Similar to unreduced nose. Dense, with a hint of orange or orange liqueur.

Flavour:
Viscous and mouth-filling, very smooth right through the finish. Sweet throughout, with a delicious syrup (treacle) tart flavour and some toffee. Later dark chocolate flavours.

Development:
Stands up very well to exposure to the air, becoming sweeter and richer, with a faint hint of smoke and liquorice and increased orange liqueur
