Bowmore

Bowmore
12 Year Old Islay, 40% vol

Appearence:
Bright mahogany, with scarlet lights

Aroma:
Highly complex aromatics - a barrage of scents.
(straight) The first impression is of air freshener and 'Izal' brand cleaner, fragrant smoke, smoked salmon and a whiff of brimstone.
(dilute) With water it becomes more floral, with carnations, lavendar, violets and pine resin. Still some smoke.

Flavour:
Even mouthfeel, with a sweet start, a dry, smoky middle and a surprisingly sweet finish. The overall impression is of charcoal, charred sticks and wood-smoke, but there is still a flavour of ladies perfume.

Development:
Remains fragrant after time, with traces of iodine. Clean.
