Auchantoshan

Auchentoshan
10 Year Old Lowland, 40% vol

Appearence: Old gold, buttery

Aroma:
Of medium intensity; well integrated; no nose prickle.
(straight) The unreduced nose is immediately sweet (castor sugar), becoming fragrant and floral (violets); fresh (like household cleaner or air freshener), and citric (lemons), There are some winey notes and a hint of rubber.
(dilute) With water the dominant note is 'Love Hearts' (brand name), with sherbert and Parma violets. Some 'green' notes are also apparent - grape skins, green grass stalks.

Flavour:
Smooth and easy to drink; mouth drying. A good balance of primary tastes, with a clean overall dryness. The 'Love Hearts' noted as an aroma carries through into the flavour.

Development:
After half an hour the sample presented rice flour and flour-based paste (wall-paper paste), but the fragrant scents were still present.
