Ardbeg
17 Year Old Islay, 40% vol

Appearance: Mid Gold

Aroma:
Nose (straight) Aroma of thick oil - linseed, but heavier; nut oil. Trace of creosote initially, which fades quickly to reveal an oakiness. A light, medium note predominates, rather than smoke.

Nose (dilute) Earthy, smoky, medicinal, with green mulch which comes through in a short while; mossy, rooty, autumn woods. Later it becomes smokier and heavier on the nose and smokier to taste. Nose drying.

Flavour:
Meduim sweet, slighltly salty, with a quickish dry finish. Tingly, especially at the sides of the mouth, smooth, mouth filling and full bodied. A marked smoke-peat note in the quick finish.
