if you're referring to the Glenmorangie finishes range Andrew, I feel I need to point out that these products are not "flavoured" with anything at all in that no fortified wines are actually added. These premium products are Glenmorangie which have instead of spending their *full* period of maturation in the same cask (ex-bourbon casks made from specially selected americna white oak from the ozark mountains in Missouri, USA) spend their final period of maturation in casks which had previously contained fortified wines (port, sherry, madeira atc.) - the whisky is subtly altered by the tannins and elagic acids in the *wood* which have reacted with the wines previously - this is where the rich colour of the port comes from for example. hope this all makes sense - our web site gives the full story on this (www.glenmorangie.com) Also to address an earlier point about the expense, we are producing a 5x5cl pack featuring 10YO,18YO and each of the three wood available in Oddbins in the UK and now coming into many duty-free outlets. All I can say is that it is an unfortuante fact of life that some of the best things in life *aren't* free!!!! slainte richard ps : anyone else looking forward to Burn's night?
