I can't help you out with High Cask Strength's from different companies. My experience isn't wide enough. However - consider the (relatively) most easily available High Strength whisky - Glenfarclas 105. The bottle has no info on the year but I cn tell you this, it varies from bottle to bottle within one year - and all bought at Terminal 1, Heathrow Duty Free. The proof never overwhelms the taste. And Glenfarclas is quite simply VERY tasty. Sometimes it's peppery, sometimes smooth, sometimes smokey. It's totally inconsistent. Every purchase is a leap in the dark, and always it's a pleasure. This opinion confirmed over 6 bottles in 1996 between 5 appreciators. Ralph
