What a question! It depends what is available in your territory. Good buys are what the trade calls 'fighting brands' - well known whiskies that are reduced in price in order to steal market share from other well-known brands. Vat 69 is used like this in some countries (a very good dram); White Horse sometimes appears like this in the UK. As a general rule, go for 'bottled in Scotland;
