Isle of Skye Blended Scotch Whisky
As its name suggests, Isle of Skye blended Scotch whisky originates from Skye, that most celebrated of Scottish islands and home to the Clan Macleod.
Conceived by Ian Macleod, a Sgitheanach from Skeabost, Isle of Skye has a richness and depth that reflects the beauty of its birthplace.
Ian's recorded intention was to develop a blend with the style and character of the robust West Coast malts - but with a softer sea air influence to suit the lighter palate.
By the careful blending of selected Island and Speyside malts he achieved a subtle balance of Island seaweed and peat, tamed by the elegance of Speyside. His blend was further enhanced by his insistence that the very youngest malt selected for Isle of Skye should have been "Aged 8 Years". The result is a smoothness and mellowness that simply cannot be found in those blends who tend to keep quiet about their age.
